Statement of Intent →
Ok, I’m going to be honest. Right from the “Hello World”. This is probably the fifth blog I’ve started. Historically, the average lifespan of these blogs is usually under ten posts. I aim to change that with this one, and that means having a clear purpose not unlike the gentleman in the image above. A Statement of Intent. This post should serve as an indicator of the content that will (that must) follow, and a yardstick to measure myself against. Ahem.
Things I will do on this blog:
- Write an opinion on a subject when I believe I have an informed view and something to say that hasn’t already been said.
- Curate what I view as excellence in creativity, design, development or humanity.
- Constructively criticize work I believe to be inadequate or ethically wrong.
- Share ideas or experiments to hear your feedback on them.
Things I won’t do on this blog:
- Paraphrase someone else’s opinion or write something that I don’t have a genuine opinion on just to appear “active”. Quality over quantity.
- Reblog stuff that looks good for the sake of reblogging stuff. See “excellence” clause above.
- Mindlessly rant about a subject without having a logical argument.
- Hide useful stuff that I can (client confidentality permitting) show that could be helpful to others.
Well, that’s the theory. Don’t hesitate to call me out if I stray too far from my lofty intentions! Thanks for reading.
